GREEN
POLICY
We are very conscious that we live in a beautiful part of
the world, so we strive to do our bit to help keep it that
way by preserving the environment. We are proud supporters
of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. We would appreciate
if you could assist us in our 'green endeavours' by observing
the following :
Energy
Please switch off lights and other appliances when not needed.
Linen
We will only replace linen upon request. This is to avoid
unnecessary use of soap and electricity. If your towels are
hanging up, we shall leave them; if they are left on the floor
or in the shower, we will replace them.
Recycling
We will be happy to recycle any glass, paper, cans and 'Tetrapak'
style cartons for you - please leave any such items next to
the waste paper bin in your room. If you find you have unwanted
brochures for local attractions, please return them to the
information area for the use of other guests rather than throwing
them away.
Toilets
Our sewage system works off a septic tank and we request that
no items other than toilet paper are placed in the toilet
as they will cause unpleasant blockages.
Water
The water from the cold tap in your room is fine to drink
and tastes wonderful. Please consider drinking tap water as
opposed to buying bottled water as the production of such
involves unnecessary use of energy. If you do buy bottled
water, please try to select water in glass bottles which can
be recycled (there are no plastic recycling facilities locally).
n.b. You may occasionally see brown flecks in the water -
this is peat which is not harmful and perfectly natural in
this area.
