Rooms are available from 4pm; however, if you wish to arrive
earlier in order to make the most of what the area has to
offer, we will be happy to store your bags until your room
is ready. If you are going to arrive later than 7pm, please
let us know.
Children
aged 8 years and over welcome (our facilities are not suitable
for younger children).
Sorry,
we are unable to accommodate pets.
We
reserve the right to refuse one night bookings in advance,
especially over weekends or during high season and special
local events. A surcharge may be applied to one night bookings.
We
believe we offer a relaxing "home away from home"
at The Braes and try to keep rules and regulations to an absolute
minimum! However, may we draw your attention to 2 policies
which we insist upon for the benefit of all guests and our
livelihood:
Smoking
The Braes is a non-smoking establishment; neither is smoking
permitted on our doorstep as smoke blows back into the house
and the ground floor bedroom. We permit smokers to use one
area of the garden which is located away from the house, and
it should be noted that this area is not sheltered. We ask
that smokers respect our policy and the comfort of others,
and carefully consider in advance of booking whether the above
requests are acceptable.
Deposits/Cancellation
Rather than taking a deposit, we ask for credit card details
in order to secure reservations and we will not normally debit
any money in advance. Regretfully, "no-shows", curtailments
and cancellations do happen and, in these circumstances, we
reserve the right to debit payment for the reserved accommodation,
especially during busy periods or if little notice is received.
We would make every effort to re-let the room and, if this
happens, no monies will be due. Please bear in mind that your
travel insurance is likely to cover you if cancellation is
due to genuine unforeseen circumstances.
